Florida has more golf courses than any other state in America and many of them are located in Southeastern Florida along the Atlantic Coast. Golf is a year-round sport in Florida, thanks to warm weather and near-daily sunshine. Active adults who count golf as one of their favorite hobbies or a sport they’d like to take up during an early retirement can consider one of the many 55+ communities that have their own world-class golf courses.

Aberdeen Golf & Country Club – Boynton Beach, FL

Low $100s – High $500s

One of the most desirable golf course communities in Palm Beach County is the luxurious Aberdeen Golf & Country Club in Boynton Beach. An equity membership is offered to all homeowners at different price points, so you can choose your golf and country club membership according to your own budget and lifestyle. This gated 55+ community offers a lot more than a gorgeous 18 holes of golf on links designed by Desmond Muirhead.

Golfers can also access a practice facility and a pro shop. Plus, there is a 40,000 square-foot clubhouse, a pool that hosts water aerobics and patio barbecues, as well as amenities that include a fitness center, a card room, a library, and acres of walking and biking trails alongside scenic ponds.

Aberdeen Golf & Country Club offers a range of properties, including condominiums, coach homes, villas, and single-family homes. There are 2,900 homes built by UDC, and buyers can choose a modest one-bedroom condo, a large three-bedroom house with a den and a bonus room, or something in between. In Boynton Beach, active adults can enjoy additional golfing opportunities at public courses such as The Links at Boynton Beach Golf.

Wynmoor Village – Coconut Creek, FL

Below $100k – Low $200s

An affordable golf course community that’s all about low-maintenance living and resort-style amenities is Wynmoor Village in Coconut Creek. Wynmoor Village is a gated 55+ community comprised of 133 mid-rise condominium buildings. Over 5,000 homes come in one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or three-bedroom models, sized between 550 square feet to over 1,250 square feet. The amenities are extensive, starting with the 50,000 square-foot clubhouse, where various clubs meet and social activities are held. Residents can join bingo, bowling, take a dance class, or participate in the supper club. There are 20 pools on the grounds, a library, tennis courts, a lecture hall, and several art studios.

The best part of living at Wynmoor Village for many active adults is the Wynmoor Golf Club. It’s a public course that offers discounts and special membership rates to members of the residential community. The executive golf course offers 18 well-manicured holes, where tournaments are often played and classes can be scheduled. For additional golfing opportunities in the Coconut Creek neighborhood, Adios Golf Club is just a few minutes away from Wynmoor Village.
