One of San Antonio’s most popular attractions is the San Antonio River Walk. The River Walk is a 15-mile long park lined with restaurants, shops, and walkways along the San Antonio River. The River Walk flows through 5 miles of the downtown area.
For active adults, the San Antonio Cycling Club organizes long-distance cycling events around the city with ranges of difficulty depending on the event.
Cost of Living & Taxes
In Texas, Social Security benefits and all other forms of retirement income are not taxed. Residents over the age of 65 who meet certain requirements are eligible for the homestead exemption to aid with property taxes. There is an 8.25 percent sales tax in the city.
